Can I only use a Roland Eco-Solvent printer/plotter for printable Flex? (Textile)

Absolutely not! Roland Eco-Solvent printer/plotters are extremely versatile and are used for:

* Textile Printing with printable Flex (for corporate and sportswear).
* Stickers and Lettering using various self-adhesive printable vinyl types.
* Large Format Printing: Printing high-quality photos, posters, printable wallpaper, and canvas, thanks to the high image quality.
* Domed Stickers (when paired with resin).

If I own a Roland Eco-Solvent machine, do I still need a separate cutting plotter?

Cutting accuracy is achieved via the Cut-Contour feature. In graphic software (like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw), you assign the cutting line a specific spot color. Roland’s VersaWorks RIP software recognizes this specific color in the file and knows that the line should be cut, not printed, giving you extremely precise control over the cutting path.

How does the Roland machine know exactly where to cut the design?

Is there an Eco-Solvent solution for polyester fabrics prone to dye migration?

Yes. For printing on colored polyester (like athletic wear), you must use a printable Flex designed with a sublimation-blocking layer.
Solution: MagiCut offers the MagiCut 2Print Sublibloc. This printable flex contains a special barrier that prevents pigments from the polyester fabric from migrating into and discolouring the printed image.

What kind of maintenance do Roland printer/plotters require?

Maintenance is relatively low, especially since most machines use CMYK ink (which is less maintenance-intensive than white ink). Essential maintenance includes:

* Always leave the printer ON (it performs automated cleaning cycles in sleep mode).
* Weekly/Bi-Weekly: Perform a manual cleaning (takes approx. 3 minutes) to clean the printhead cap and the wiper blade.
* Annually: It is recommended to have a service check performed by a Roland-certified technician.
